National Youth Orchestra of Wales

For sixty years the cream of Wales’ young performers have passed through the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, giving emotionally dedicated performances of the kind that youth alone can bring. Few works capture this more ardently than Elgar’s Second Symphony with its abundance of lyrical melody. In the bounding vitality of Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto, written for the great cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, they are joined by Julian Lloyd Webber to celebrate their 60th anniversary year.
